"GEBREEK" is the second volume of the Vanuitstof project, born when 3 friends decided to explore some of the deeper strata and more honest complexities of song writing and music making.

This volume was not premeditated.

Guitarist and Singer-Songwriter Werner Carstens, Bassist and Singer-Songwriter Jandre Viljoen and Keyboardist and Singer-Songwriter Helmut Meijer united after almost two years, finding themselves faced with some of the most perplexing realities, which in turn gave birth to some of the more brutally honest offerings called "Gebreek".

"Gebreek" explores the metaphor of liminality: having left the shore, but waking up to the reality that any given destination may not be that easily reached. And we very often found ourselves stuck in this state of flux, over and over again.
